Sister Visit

OK I finally went through all of the pictures from our visit with the family. It was really a 3 week visit so lots of pictures and lots of fun. You can read Melinda's post and get most of it and more of the family pics so I will save you some and just hit a few highlights of my kiddos.

The drive to Levelland went really well considering. A 9 month old, a 20 month old, and a 3 1/2 year old don't make the best travelling companions but give them a DVD player and a few extra cheerios and everybody survived. Besides what fun would it be to visit without the drive there. Like Melinda said, Carrie always has lots of fun things planned and is a great host. Klayton and Austin played great and I don't think we broke up but maybe one argument. It is so much fun to see them playing together and groing up to be great buds.
I made the trip without Kevin so Klayton was my little helper with Kenzie. He is a little protective of her but again too cute.

Then there was finger paintingand of course the water time was a hoot. The kids never really mastered the slip n slide but they had fun trying. And Kenzie...well she just had fun eating grass.
And of course we have to play a little tackle. I don't know how this game came to be but they were laughing hysterically and by the end so were we.Most of the time my child is a scaredy cat but he fought hard to get out of Austin's hold and then when he had Austin pinned down, Austin decided he didn't want to play. So Klayton would let him up and start running and get tackled again and giggle his way back on top. Too much fun!!
Of course who can handle all those kids without a few drinks. Then it was on to North Carolina. Again refer to Melinda's blog for all of the fun pictures. It was a great visit and some really good adult time. We are really lucky to spend so much time together despite living lots of miles apart. Here we are enjoying the sites.

Fun Sayings/Happenings on a Normal Day in the Chance Household

7:00 a.m. - Klayton running and clapping saying "I see a 7, I see a 7"

explanation - we are trying to teach him to stay in bed until 7

7:20 a.m. - "this shirt sure is cozy" says Klayton as he puts on his new Marine shirt

7:50 a.m. - "Mommy I am talking to you. (I am trying to talk on the phone) I am getting tired of

feeding Kenzie." - as he reaches around her car seat to give her cheerios on the way

to the golf course

8:30 a.m. - giggles from Kenzie in the swing at the playground and the repeated "mama, mama, mama"

9:00 a.m. - Kenzie puts her hand to her ear and says "heii" as I answer a phone call

10:30 a.m. - "Mommy, come check out the greens with me." says Klayton. (he is pretending to drive to the golf course and wants me to get in the car as well."

12:15 p.m. -" Mommy can I sit next to you at lunch today" (my heart melts)

4:00 p.m. - "Oops I know what that is....poop" Aren't we glad he knows what that is.
4:15 p.m. - "can I pay bills with y'all," Klayton says as he watches us working on the computer - he really just wants cut up paper

7:55 p.m. - "mommy will you rock me to sleep and then carry me to my room" - what!! he didn't even like that as a baby

8:00p.m. - I ask Kenzie for a kiss and she opens wide and leans in and puts her mouth to my cheek. A little wet but again heart melting.

8:05 p.m. - I say "Good night, Klayton, don't let the bed bugs bite." He replies, "if they do hit them with a net until they are black and orange." Yea I don't know.

I have had several people tell me to make a journal of what the kiddos were saying so I would remember them so I am going to try to capture that once in a while.

Life with 2 kids is great!!!

And if that isn't enough then here are the silly things they did this weekend - Kenzie driving and Klayton in Kenzie's jumper and wearing Kevin's boxers. Nice!!!

I missed a Father's day blog so I will mix camping at Inks Lake with Father's Day and try to explain why Klayton and I (and Kenzie too) think Kevin is the best dad in the world.

1. He takes us to the golf course and lets us ride on the "big green dump truck" and even when he is super stressed he always takes time for us.2. He lets us go camping and always cooks great food. Kenzie will eat just about anything but she is starting to appreciate the good stuff as well.
3. He takes us skiing - and then listens to me gripe about how sore I am.4. He teaches us how to get Aunt Mel wet even when she is the water. He teaches us lots of other cool games that only daddies know as well.
5. He holds the little girls so the mommies and big boys can go deeper in the water. The Whited's braved Inks Lake as well and Jillian and the gang were great despite the 104 degree heat.
6. He would do anything for us and we love him dearly. Dad's are definitely special people and I love seeing that light in Klayton's eyes when Kevin walks in the room and I look forward to seeing the relationship grow. I know that Kenzie and Kevin's relationship will be just as special because I know how special my dad is to me. Happy Father's Day really late to all the dad's from the Chances enjoying our family while out on the boat. (well we were mostly enjoying it - but Kenzie wasn't too happy about the picture situation)
