July

Aunt Mel was able to stay in town for 2 more weeks after Sally's wedding so we took full advantage of the situation and started getting the room ready for its new arrival (that would be the baby Kenzie DeAnn). Klayton has always been a big helper and especially now he wants to help with everything we do. Including painting. So while Melinda and Kevin were working hard, I played supervisor to a 2 1/2 year old with a paint roller. A little bit of a challenge but Klayton had a blast. (Excuse our little redneck with no shirt on.) I don't have a finished picture of the room because we are waiting on a few things but it is coming along great. His side is navy and green and her side is pink and green. He has dump trucks and she has, well, flowers of course. Quite exciting.

Aunt Mel is also great for a few laughs and especially when it comes to tickling the boys. Here she is on the way to church. Klayton was laughing so hard he got the hiccups and Melinda wasn't even touching him.

And one more grin just for good times sake!
This past weekend we went to Inks lake for the weekend. I was a little concerned about the 100 degree weather and 7 months pregnant but it really wasn't too bad. The water felt great and we stayed in the shade a lot. Richard, Shelley, Will, Aunt Marla, and Melinda all joined us and of course we took the boat out a little and just enjoyed being away.

Klayton and Will got absolutely filthy playing in the dirt (including dumping dirt on each other's heads.) Klayton is getting much better at playing by himself. He is growing up too fast. And here we are after loading up the boat. I am still not an expert driver by any means but I can load the boat on the trailer and Klayton would be happy to tell you that he helps.

The funniest part of the weekend probably came on Sat night when I got the boys all geared up for a special surprise. Chocolate cupcakes for everyone! Of course they were a little melted from the heat and had shifted toward one side of the pan and when I went to get Will's cupcake, Klayton couldn't wait any longer and pulled down the pan and ended up with a face full of chocolate.

We laughed so hard we couldn't even talk. Klayton was a little confused and Will was mad that he didn't get to eat cupcakes. It was a nice try but definite failure. After a quick bath we were all OK.

I of course skipped right over July 4th. We watched fireworks in Buda and Klayton was not scared. A real accomplishment compared to last year. The next night we went back to the Noska's for a bab-b-que by Jason and Brandon. It was a great time for the kiddos to play together (there were 5 kids between the ages of 2 and 3). And Klayton stayed awak until 11:00. A new record. I will be better about taking pictures I promise.
