Well I love the holidays in general but I especially love Thanksgiving. 1st of all it is 4 days off work. I don't even get 4 days off for Christmas. Kevin did have to work this year but just in the early morning so that means that I got to spend 4 days with him too. 2nd of all, there is not all of the self imposed stress that sometimes comes with Christmas. You don't have to be at this place by noon and out the door by 3:35. I guess what I am trying to say is there is less scheduling. And 3rd of all there is football on TV all weekend so you can be lazy and it is OK.
So here are some of the details from this Thanksgiving. Thursday we spent at our house. Kevin's mom did most of the cooking but I planned a few dishes as well and I think everything went well. Wed night looked a bit scary when our kitchen light was broken (I don't remember what the piece is called but it wasn't just the bulb so it took and extra trip to Home Depot, thanks Kevin). But after that smooth sailing. My dad and Jeanette and Jeanette's mom (Granny) came up as well. So total there was 8 of us for dinner and poor Melinda tried to join us but was just not feeling well. Yikes! It was great to have everyone together.
Then Friday... Well most of us could guess what the highlight of Friday was. And to all of the longhorn fans, I'm sorry. But it was very nice to watch a close football game and the Aggies win. Dealing with a heartbroke husband is not the easiest thing in the world so an Aggie win made the day much more enjoyable. Just one picture to share. I couldn't resist but the picture was Kevin's idea.
On to Sat and of course more football. We actually decided to ride with Jennifer and Brandon to watch Sacred Heart plan in Waco. It was their semifinal game and it was a great game and another win. Of course I am getting way too old and don't know most of the kids but as always it is fun to reminisce and see a few people. Kevin thought SHS was a very well coached team (no bias of course) and Klayton had a blast.
This is him sitting in Angie's bleacher chair. He thought is was quite funny.
He also got a big kick out of the end zone "thingies" (whatever they are called)

We tried to get a picture of both of the kiddos but were not very succesful.

And lastly, the winning coach and his granddaughter, it doesn't get much cuter.
It was a great weekend for family and of course football and now I am officialy ready for Christmas.
