Baby DJ & Thanksgiving

I have to start this blog wtih a little hesitation because I am aware of the repercussions of posting such pictures but I just can't deny my friends and family from seeing such a cute, honest, and proud display of school loyalty so here goes...

Yes, it was quite an exciting day in our house. And Klayton will gladly yell "aiies" (Klayton's pronunciation of aggies) to any football team on TV. And just for old times sake let's recollect on last year's picture in a similar circumstance.

OK I am done gloating and ready to face the consequences.

Thanksgiving came and went and along with that I became an Aunt again. Yeah! It was a long weekend away from my two boys but I thoroughly enjoyed getting to be in Maryland with Melinda (and of course Dave :)) for the birth of DJ. I didn't do much sightseeing other than the hospital, the airport, and oh yea, how could I pass up a mall only a block from the hospital but the trees were gorgeous and the weather refreshing compared to the 80's we were having in TX and little DJ seems to be quite the angel. Yes, I know I was only there 2 days but he just slept and ate and was a pretty content little baby. Let's hope he is continuing to be such a good boy for the new mommy and daddy. Here are a few pics.

The green hat was too funny. The nurses were worried about his body temperature and him being too cold so we had to keep him extra covered.

After a quick week back at work Thansgiving snuck up on us. We did go home and spent the day with Dad and Jeanette but due to the cold weather Klayton didn't get to run around as much as normal but we had a good visit and even played a little dominoes. Then for the weekend we headed back to Austin to enjoy the game, do a little shopping, and relax after a busy two week run. It is hard to believe that in 2 weeks I will be headed to Levelland to watch another birth. What fun!

I would be amiss to say that Klayton was an angel all weekend as I think he is testing my limits or just being a typical 2 year old but we have so much to be thankful for that it is hard to get too negative. So despite the fact that Thanksgiving has come and gone, let me end with a few things that I am thankful for.

  • family - both near and far but knowing that we can be there for each other whenever needed

  • health - a stomach virus is nothing compared to a truly sick baby and now we have another healthy addition to the family

  • good jobs - sure I would love to not work but when it gets down to it, I have a great job and they truly support my decisions

  • love- so many people love us but I am especially thankful for my husband's love and the celebration of 4 years of marriage and many more to come

  • and finally I am thankful for the silly games my son likes to play in order to pass the time - for instance taking pictures of the little people farm animals. What a goofball

I could post all the pictures but I would hate to bore you.

I just looked down at the desk and saw a picture of Klayton and how could I forget to be thankful for smiles and hugs because without those 2 things the days would be a lot more difficult.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone and looking forward to Christmas!!!
