Camping

It's Spring and at the Chance household that means the beginning of camping season. Yeah! We had already taken the boat on a few day trips this spring but 2 weekends ago was our 1st camping trip and Klayton had a blast. For 2 days before we left all he could talk about was the "blue tent" and "take boat out" and it didn't matter who you were he was going to tell you about it. Last spring our 1st few camping trips we had, well let's say less than perfect weather. Not this year. It was great weather and great family time together. There is something about being away from TV and phones and spending all day just focusing on each other and not worrying about chores. I am so thankful that Mom and Dad took us camping as kids and even more thankful to be able to pass on this fun pass time to our kiddos.

Here he is enjoying some ribs. One of his new favorite foods and you can tell how clean he is when he eats them but that is another good thing about camping; it doesn't matter how dirty you are.We also did some fishing. We didn't have a whole lot of success but it was fun and Klayton is getting even more patient in the boat and really learning to cast his fishing pole quite well.And of course what camping trip would be complete without some smores. Klayton would just assume eat plain marshmallows and graham crackers but I thoroughly enjoyed the smores :)
