Weekend Travels

Whoa!  That was a whirlwind.  We travelled three weekends in a row and had lots of fun.  First we went to Colletto Creek with the Whited's.  She has a few pics on her page since I didn't take any :(  I know camping in August in Texas is asking for punishment but we did pretty good.  Of course it was warm but nothing that a little water couldn't fix and the evenings were totally tolerable.  A little rain shower really helped cool things down on Saturday afternoon and led to some messy kids but lots of good times.

The next weekend we were at Sommerville.  We even camped in campsite #14.  It is the same campsite where we camped every summer for at least 2 weeks.  The same campsite where Kevin asked my dad for his permission to marry me.  The same campsite where a snack crawled over Melinda's foot.  You get the point.  Lots of memories.  This time Grandma, Laura, and Tyler were able to join us and again the heat was tolerable.  Lots of water time, a few boat rides, a nice breeze and all was great.

Grandma and Konnor looking like a really big boy.
Grandma was really brave to come celebrate her birthday with us.

Laura with the kiddos

and now Kenzie is looking pretty grown up despite the floaties :)

and this is what Konnor did the majority of the time.  He jumped off the boat and got thrown all over the place and just giggled the whole time
but at the end of the day I had three naked and tired kids.  Life is so rough
Then the next weekend we made the trek to see the Ellis's in Levelland.  We left at noon and hoped to be there by bedtime.  Scary right.  Kevin fried some chicken and we packed cheese, crackers, sausage, and tons of snacks and loaded up.  We made it in 7 1/2 hours with only one pit stop.  Very impressive!!

Carrie and Richard are amazing hosts and the kids had a great time with plenty of water time including
jumping
throwing
and cuddling

We even managed an amazing dinner

and a trip to the museum in Lubbock that was all about the gliders in WWII.  (very relevant since we just got back from France and saw where the had to land).  The kids did way better than I anticipated in the museum and were pretty interested.

Yes, three weekends in a row is a little busy but with those smiles, I wouldn't trade it for anything
