On her actual birthday we started the day with a new dress and a present
and ended the day with ears pierced, brownies, and dinner with the whole family.
Then came the official party. And she didn't just want one or two girls. She wanted all of her cousins, her neighbors, her classmates, you name it. So what is a mom to do? I obliged and even admit to having a little fun in the process.
The only thing Kenzie wasn't totally opinionated on was what kind of party. She mentioned a princess party on several occasions so I took some liberties and changed that to fairy princess. After some research on pinterest of course I found some fun things and the party was on its way.
The food was probably the most fun part for me :)
And there were also fairy halos and wings
Then it was time for a few games. We made fairy wands, had a pixie dust relay race and found glitter treasures sprinkled in the garden by the fairies.
The cake was my first attempt at fondant. I made marshmallow fondant and aside from needing Kevin's muscles for the kneading part of it, it was fairly easy and turned out cute.
The girls seemed to have a great time and everyone took home a cookie wand with their halos, pixie dust and fairy treasures.
Happy Happy Birthday to my spunky, fun filled, entertaining, opinionated, girly, and beautiful little 5 year old. She keeps me on my toes but I wouldn't have it any other way.
