Emotions

As I sat on the ground this afternoon playing with Klayton I suddenly realized all the emotions that I encounter in such a short time frame. We are truly so blessed to be able to enjoy our son so much. This afternoon Klayton was throwing (kind of just dropping but it seemed like throwing to me) the ball back and forth with me and I was so excited. Who knew that a game of catch could make you laugh out loud and be so proud. Then I asked him to "give me the ball" and he did (again probably by accident) but I was so ecstatic I think I squeeled. This of course comes after a Friday afternoon visit with my cousin Krista and Aunt Linda where I was worried about Klayton being anti-social. I know he is just a little shy but another extreme emotion I'm sure. When Krista and Aunt Linda were leaving I had another strong emotion as I realized how much fun we had together growing up and how special it was for them to come visit. Thanks guys, I really appreciate it.

Just to add a few more emotions to the weekend Klayton has started pulling up on any thing that is even remotely within his reach. Of course it is exciting as I think about how much he is growing up and then I start to worry about him growing up. Don't think I am quite ready for that. Before I have time to finish that thought, there is a thud as Klayton's new legs give out and he bumps his head on the window sill. Now he is crying and I swear it hurts me as much as it does him. But before long he is reaching out again to pull up on the next unsuspecting object and again I smile. Another milestone of the weekend was lowering the crib to the bottom level. Naptimes have turned into play time because he has learned to pull up in the crib. As cute as he is when you walk into the room and he is smiling at you, it certainly is frustrating when he won't go to sleep because he is standing in his room. Then after a few minutes of crying I peak in and find a sleeping baby and nothing tops that emotion. So many joys of being a mother.

I love my little nephew. He brings such joy to my life. He takes after me some, I'm a kid myself and I am shy too. I enjoy every chance I get to babysit. We do fun and crazy things that makes us both laugh. Like playing with toilet paper. I spoil him, my nickname is the "bag lady" because every time I see him I have a Walmart sack with at least one thing for him. He is a blessing from God and I thank Him every day.
