Levelland

Last weekend we loaded up the car and began an adventure to Carrie and Richard's. Dad and Jeanette made the trip with us and Melinda and Aunt Marla met us in Levelland as well. The trip started early Friday morning. A few dozen snacks, a small cooler, bags in the back, and Klayton in his car seat and we were off. Klayton does pretty good in the car but a sever hour ride is a lot to ask of an adult much less an 18 month old. But...he did pretty good. He watched some movies (a travel DVD player is a must), took a few short naps, and we read a few book and before we knee it the city limits sign for Levelland was approaching and the fun was just beginning.

Of course after being in a car for that long, Klayton was anxious to get outside and Austin was more than happy to show us around and couldn't wait to pass out hugs.

Carrie does a really good job of keeping up with her flower beds so we had to smell a few flowers and what a great picture op. I just couldn't pass it up.Of course it is always fun to have the boys around Grandpa and Grandma Jeanette. I think as the boys are getting older, Dad is getting more comfortable playing with them and it is just priceless. I can't wait to see the boys chase Grandpa around as they get bigger.

After the boys went to bed we played a game of "Solitaire on Crack" or "speed solitaire" or whatever you want to call it. It was lots of fun and a little crazy. I have to give it to Kevin as he was the winner of the game an he played with some horribly crazy colored cards.

Sat morning the boys played a little piano... (again too cute)

then we headed out for a game of bowling which is always good family fun :) Melinda won the first game and Dad the second but I think officially Klayton and Austin combined for the high score. It is amazing how much bumpers help. Before we knew it, it was time for a little milk

...and back to the road. It was a great trip but too short of course. Thanks Carrie and Richard for a great time and for being such great hosts.

We can't wait to see all of the kiddos this weekend at "the hill." (That is where all of the family gets together on Good Friday).
