What is camping without a few memories. Our summer trek to meet the Ellis's is filled with memories. Of course some are better than others. We started this tradition 4 summers ago with 100 degrees, a pregnant woman, a newborn, and a gripey (I mean sympathetic brother in law) and didn't even have water access while we were camping. Now that was some memories. The next year was cooler but still no water and last year there was water but campsites cost more than a hotel and you could hardly get in the water because it was nasty. So, in comparison, we hit the jackpot this year. We had to drive a little farther so we opted out of bringing the boat and instead rented a pontoon boot that we could all be on. Klayton thought it was awesome.

but she did wake up long enough to be super brave and ride the tube all by herself. I was a nervous wreck.

and sometimes they have there own ideas of entertainment (like watching the neighbors fish). I promise we had nothing to do with this undertaking

Even more importantly, sometimes when you are camping, you have unwelcome visitors.

Not to worry, he was quickly moved and the kids learned what a tarantula looked like. Oh the price we pay for a few wonderful memories.
